15444, Do you have a statement of volatililty for LSI RAID controllers?

For the purposes of data sanitation for RMA, this is a Letter of Volatility regarding LSI RAID controller products.

"All cache on LSI RAID controllers is 'volatile', meaning that when power is removed, the information will be lost. LSI RAID controllers have NVRAM (non-volatile RAM), which is where the controllers store information such as the diagnostic logs and the controller policies.

The exception is if the controller has a BBU. Then the volatile RAM is battery backed up for up to 72 hours. Removing the battery power source will cause the loss of all data in cache."
