See the table below for VMware support for the 9550SX(U)/9650SE/9690SA/9750 controllers.  There are no plans to support VMware with the 7000/8000 series.  The 9500S series is supported only with VMware ESX and ESXi 4.0 GA and 4.0 update 1 (using the 9550SX(U) driver).

 

There aren't separate 32-bit and 64-bit versions of VMware.  The drivers below work on VMware installed on 64-bit hardware and can be used to run 64-bit virtual machines.
